RM Bridge Advanced Wizard Help

Cross Section Page

The Superstructure Cross section parameters allows you to define the cross sectional dimensions along the bridge. The deck cross section is a solid concrete plate with cantilever plates at both edges and is constant over the whole length of the bridge.

The cross section screen consists of ten parameters describing the typical bridge cross section.

SettingDescription
Roadway Selects a roadway template created in roadway page definition and applies it to the plate top surface.

General Tab

It consists of 8 columns that describes and defines the parameters used in modeling the Hollow box cross section.

SettingDescription
Group Two groups are used based on each parameter type: General, Cantilever.
Name Indicates the Parameter name and can't be modified.
Value The Value of the Parameter is introduced in this field.
Unit/Type The unit [m]/[ft] is selected from General options when the Project is Initialized and also depends on the Code&Material Standard used.Type consists in either Length or Angle.
Description A short description explaining each parameter so it can be better identified in the plot.
Variation Define the variation for a girder(s) particular set of parameters within a span
Mirror (yes/no) mirrors the entire variation for the current span.
Plate width (w) [m]: Defines the width of bottom plate, range [0; 24].
Plate depth (d) [m]: Defines the thickness of the slab, range [0.25; 1.8].
Delta W left/right (dwl, dwr)[m] : Defines the horizontal projection of the lateral slab side with an minimum angle 60° ,range [0;0.5]
CWL, CWR (left, right cantilever) [m]: Defines the left/right cantilever width, range [0; 1.8].
CDO (cantilever thickness outside) [m]: Defines outside cantilever thickness, range [0; 0.25].
CDI (cantilever thickness inside) [m]: Defines inside cantilever thickness, range [0; 0.35].
